Story Reels: One Idea, a Short Animated Film With the Same Characters in Every Scene

FeaturesPublished October 8, 2026 · 2 min read

Six shots of a short animated story about a girl, Anaya, and her grandfather freeing a kite from a tree, with the same two characters in every shot

Most AI videos fall apart in the second scene. The girl in scene one has braids, and in scene two she has a different face. Story reels are our answer: you write one idea, and ShareGreet makes a short animated film where the same characters appear in every scene.

Story reels are in early access. We are testing them with a small group first, and they are not yet open to everyone. This post explains how they work.

How it works

  1. Write an idea. For example: a little girl loses her kite in a tree and her grandfather helps her.
  2. Review the script. ShareGreet writes four to eight short scenes and invents the characters. You see who they are and can change what is said in each scene. This step is free.
  3. Make the reel. We draw each character once, then use that picture in every scene, so the faces, hair and clothes stay the same. Each scene is then animated, and narration, captions and music are added.

Seven looks to choose from

Pick 3D animated, clay, watercolor, oil painting, sketch, real people or pop art. Each look is drawn into the scene pictures first, and then brought to life, so the whole reel keeps one style.

In your language

The narration and the on-screen words follow the language of your region, using the same voices and caption fonts as the rest of ShareGreet. The pictures are described in English behind the scenes, which is what keeps the characters steady.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use story reels now?

Not yet. They are in early access with a small group while we test cost and quality.

Will the characters look the same in every scene?

Very close. We draw each character once and reuse that picture, but small details can still change.

What does a story reel cost?

It uses credits, about two for each second of video. Writing the script is free, and credits come back if the reel fails.

Which languages work?

The narration and captions follow the language of your region in ShareGreet.
