Make a Tribute Flipbook to Remember Someone You Love
FamilyPublished October 8, 2026 · 2 min read
When someone dies, families gather photos in a hurry for a service or a message group. A small flipbook gives those photos a shape: a book that opens on any phone, can be shared with relatives abroad, and can be printed for the family. This is a gentle guide to making one.
A tribute flipbook: a cover, two photo pages with short captions, and a closing page with a QR code.
Start with the photos, not the words
Choose six to eight pictures that feel like them: laughing, cooking, with grandchildren, in their favourite chair. A flipbook holds up to ten pages, and a smaller number keeps it calm. The cover can be their best-known photo with their name and years.
Keep each caption short
One line, in your own words: “Every Sunday, her kitchen.”
A saying of theirs, if they had one.
A date or a place only the family would know.
If you are stuck, Help me write can draft a line from one detail, and you can soften it. It is free. See how it works.
End with one gentle message
The closing page can hold up to 280 characters. A short thank-you, or a line the family would say together, is enough. It also carries a QR code that opens the book online.
Choose quiet music, and a voice if you like
A calm track from the free library, such as one of the warm or calm moods.
A relative’s own voice reading the closing message, which can mean more than any generated one. See record your own voice.
Or an AI voice, if that is easier, in the language your family speaks.
Share it with care
Send the link to the family group, and to those who could not attend.
